How to Make a Glowing Flower

Use chemistry to make a real flower glow in the dark. Glowing Flower - Method #1 Test a highlighter pen to make sure it glows under black (fluorescent) light. Yellow is reliable, but some other colors glow brightly, too.Use a knife or saw to cut open the pen and expose the fibers which contain the ink. Remove the ink strip.Squeeze dye from the ink pad into a small amount of water.Trim the end of a flower so that it will be able to take up water. Place the flower in the water with the ink.Allow several hours for the flower to absorb the fluorescent ink. When the flower has taken in the ink its petals will glow under black light. Glowing Flower - Method #2 many flowersfluorescent light Pour some tonic water into a vase.Cut the end off of a flower so that it has a fresh surface.Allow several hours for the quinine to be incorporated into the petals of the flower.Turn on a black light and enjoy your flower. Glowing Flower - Method #3 Prepare glowing water using diet tonic water or any color of highlighter that you have established will glow under a black light. Its also possible to use thinned glowing paint.Find a glass or cup that is large enough to accomodate your flower. Fill this container with the glowing liquid.Invert the flower and immerse it in the liquid. Gently swish the flower around to dislodge any air bubbles, since areas with bubbles wont pick up the fluorescent or phosphorescent color.Allow your flower to absorb the dye. Just dipping the flower results in spotty coverage. If you want bright glowing flowers, allow the flowers to absorb the color directly into their petals for an hour or two. You can keep the stem of the flower hydrated by wrapping a bit of dampened paper towel around it.Remove the glowing flower from the liquid. You can place it in a vase filled with water or otherwise display it under a black light. Tips for Making a Glowing Flower White or pale flowers work much better than flowers with deeply colored petals. The pigment in the dark colored flowers blocks nearly all the glowing light. You need fresh healthy flowers. Flowers that are nearly dead wont drink the water and wont glow. Its possible you might be able to inject the ink directly into the flower head, but wouldnt you rather just use a fresh flower?Certain flowers work better than others. Carnations and daisies work better than roses. Basically any flower you can dye with food coloring works well for making a glowing flower. A Note About Glowing Chemicals how to make glowing flowers . If the videos involve giving the flowers a chemical that is already glowing or is fluorescent or phosphorescent under a black light, theres a good chance the instructions are legitimate. However, videos that call for you to mix unlikely chemicals like match heads and peroxide are a scam. Those chemicals will not make your flower glow. Dont be fooled!

Gracious Christianity Journal Response Two - 1244 Words

Gracious Christianity Journal Response Two In chapters four through eight of Jacobsen and Sawatsky’s book, Gracious Christianity, there is an in depth analyses of the Holy Spirit, the church, the Bible, and the future. There was so much information that I read over, so I took a concept from each chapter that I found significant and analyzed it. There are many fantastic points made that really got me thinking about the life around me and how I am executing my own life. In chapter four of, Gracious Christianity, it covers the spirit of life. Basically, the Spirit that is given by God gives us life mentally, physically, and spiritually to all Christians (78). One concept the authors talk about was powerful, â€Å"Instead, we†¦show more content†¦In Genesis, God tells Adam to take care of all the plant life and animals roaming the earth, moreover, I believe the responsibility has been passed on to us and it is our duty to take care of God’s beautiful creation of life. In chapter five what really caught my attention was the section on community of the church. Personally, I believe the church communities are failing to reach out to others, and reach the full potential of what the church can be. I believe many churches are slowly becoming a social club that merely mimics what Christianity should be. Many people go to church for the popularity and inspirational quotes. â€Å"The church as a community does not require conformity. Christians are not meant to be cookie-cutter copies of one another† (90). I have been told by friends about the hurt their family member has felt because the church rejected them due to he or she being gay. Hearing these stories broke a piece of me because this is not how a Christian community should behave. God does not reject us for our unworthiness, however, he loves us. Which in my eyes means we are not to reject anyone from attending the church, yet, show them love. â€Å"The church is the place where the s tory of our personal redemption branches out and intertwines with the stories of other persons seeking redemption on the road towards full salvation† (91). As a community, we are not to reject

Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade free essay sample

The Trans- Atlantic Slave Trade was actually often referred to as the Holocaust of Enslavement which was basically the incarceration and imprisonment of people not for committing criminal offenses but to be put to work for others. The Areas that were involved in the European slave trade eventually prospered. (Ca Demon) These areas took advantage of what they had in their own countries and traded for slaves that in result produced twice as such of the product, which made them very profitable. The Portuguese in the sasss had discovered uninhabited equatorial islands of Principle and SAA Tome and they ended up developing thriving sugar plantations in the rich volcanic soils of these islands and they needed people to work on the sugar plantations so they went to have Africa and brought slaves to man their plantations. (Shilling peg. 69). Then the Europeans saw an opening to trade more east which ended up being the discovery of the New World. The origin of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade was mainly coming from the, expanding European empires in the New World lacked one major source a work force. In most cases the indigenous peoples had proved unreliable(About. Com), the locals were all dying from diseases because the Europeans brought over many diseases and other things and the people already in the New World werent used to these diseases and ended up dying. The main reason the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade kept thriving was because of the Triangular Trade, the first part was taking manufactured goods from Europe to Africa and in exchange they would get slaves and that made everyone happy there because the African slave owners would get goods in turn for people and the Europeans would get slaves to produce more of the goods they had their slaves producing. The second part of the triangle was the middle passage where they shipped the slaves to America. The final part of this was the produce of the slave plantations in America returned the products to Europe. About. Com) The New World was a place in a huge need for more people to do labor because the country was so lavish in crops and new resources. The Holocaust of Enslavement described by Karen was described as a massive killing of about 50 to 100 million lives lost thru mass murder, war, he forcible transfer of populations, and the brutal rigors of the Middle Passage and of enslavement as well as the attendant demutualization and cultural destruction, one cannot help but conclude that Of all the holocausts of history, none surpasses this one. (peg. 34 Karen) Karen also goes onto say, that the Holocaust of enslavement expressed itself in three basic ways 1) a morally monstrous destruction of human life-millions of persons killed, whole peoples destroyed; 2) a morally monstrous destru ction of human culture- cities, towns, villages, great works of art and literatures; 3) the orally monstrous destruction of human possibility- the destruction of life- chances and the grounds for human aspiration, freedom, dignity and human solidarity with others (peg 135 Karen). The things Karen say are very true it was basically almost like a job just to survive as a slave. The people who owned you did not care if you were feed well or healthy they just wanted you to do the work they didnt want to do themselves. These people were sick to force someone against their own will to go all the way across the world just to work on a farm when you can just get a smaller farm and be able to do it ourselves. The Africans came over in such bulk as if they almost just agreed to come over and not fight back, but this is very close to the correct thing. The Africans often rebelled and tried to fight back. There are many narratives out their providing stories behind how the slaves tried fighting back. The most common resistance to slavery was day to day/ resistance which the slaves would break tools, pretend to be sick, light things on fire or just even work really slowly so that they could keep their energy and not get much done (Digital History). The impact of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade was very disappeared. The main effect which everyone knows which is very negative which is stated in our slides would be the depopulation of Africa taking everyone out of the country and shipping them off to various places defiantly cuts down on the populations and its not like all of them survived their travels many ended up dying (Zooplankton). The impact people say that the slaves were harassed until death at sea is really exaggerated, the book says that most slaves didnt die from being injured out at sea, but mostly from epidemics passed around on the boat killing many slaves (Harold peg. 38). The reasoning behind this is very believable for the fact why would you pay for something, but kill it before you put it into work that is basically a waste of your money.A huge impact the Trans-Atlantic slave trade had on Africa was also the Demographic impact it messed up marriage patterns and potentially reproducing more people, because they w ere taking all the males away from African it is a little hard to have a kid without a male involved (University of Calgary). The positive impact maybe one of the only to come out of this was the New World was able to produce so many new things often being called a rich place to come to because of all the opportunities and resources they had there. Europe was flourishing from all of this they had everything they wanted products coming from the New World and slaves going to the new world which made a huge impact on this whole period, because the Europeans looked at it as a flourishing period for them and basically having nothing wrong with it and on the other hand they were just basically ripping Africa apart to feed their own families breaking families in Africa Apart (Slave Voyages) This took so many peoples lives which had a great impact on America growing into a new country while Africa was struggling to get by.The conclusion of all this the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade was a huge destruction of one society, but also a stepping stone to produce one of the most influential Countries in the world now. They do say goods things dont come without sacrifice. This a terrible way to describe how these people were treated, but I know they had to fight for their lives, but thank them for all the pain and problems they went through to pr oduce this great country for me to live in today.

Space Age Technology Essay Example For Students

Space Age Technology Essay Man has innovated through out history, always developing new technologies and making great advances in science. One field of science that has grown exponentially is the department of space exploration. We now live in an age of knowledge in which space technology plays a great role, by developing new means of communication by which we can share our knowledge. The only problem is that this new age of knowledge is not very accessible to everyone on the planet. Third world countries are lagging behind the developed countries in the department of knowledge. Third world countries suffer greatly from the deprivation of the knowledge that is an almost exclusive to the developed countries. We will take a look at how the lack of knowledge affects areas like education, economics, employment, ecology, energy, ethics and ekistics. We will also take a look at how developed countries can help the third world countries. Finally, we shall see what space technology can do to help these countries. We will write a custom essay on Space Age Technology specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now First of all, education, economics, employment, ecology, energy, ethics and ekistics are all tied in together, and the lack of knowledge affects them all. For instance the lack of knowledge affects directly education. People in third world countries are often not as highly educated as people in the developed countries. In turn this will affect the economics and employment of the country. If a highly educated man or woman is trained and start looking for works, their needs to be jobs available for that person. If their isnt any jobs around, developed countries will come in and try and offer those persons a job, in exchange for their knowledge. Now since these people are leaving that means their will be one less person to contribute to the country. If these developed countries company offer them a job somewhere else then they will follow and so the companies that are already in that country will suffer. Of course, the environment will also suffer, because with out their scientist aroun d they wont know what to do to take care of their surroundings. Without their scientist the third world countries will also have trouble in being able to extract the energy that comes from their own countries. Often these countries deprived of knowledge will try to act like the developed countries, but without having the rights laws and code of conduct they end up hurting each other a lot more. Their moral attitudes and the way they see each other are also influenced by these other countries. If the scientist and other highly specialized workers leave their own country they cannot contribute to advancement of their country. How can developed countries help the less knowledgeable countries ? One way is by helping these countries develop their means of information. Instead of going to other countries and taking away the knowledgeable people they should insist that they stay there to help their own country. By doing this they will be encouraging people to help themselves. Since these countries look up to the knowledgeable countries they must be careful with what they do. If the developed countries are careful with their environment for instance, the other countries might do the same to try and catch up and be like the developed countries. The important thing is to build the knowledge of these underdeveloped countries, to do this you must show how important education is, and insist on developing a good educational system. Of course the developed countries can also help by funding certain projects in these countries. Why ? Because it will be profitable for them in the long run. Developed countries have been looking at things mostly in the long run, while the underdeveloped countries have been worried with trying to catch up with the developed countries and thus damage their own lifestyle and culture. In short, the developed countries would need to invest in the third world country to help them get up to a standard living condition all around the world so that they can then contribute to our pool of knowledge. .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57 , .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57 .postImageUrl , .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57 , .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57:hover , .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57:visited , .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57:active { border:0!important; } .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57:active , .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57 .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .ucae8468a85403db71d71435f3f10fb57:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: The Impeachment Of Bill Clinton EssayHow can space technology help the third world countries ? Well thanks to satellites a country called Libya found a underground source of water. Why is this important ? Because before it used to be a box of sand, now it has water which means that life can continue to live there. This is only one example of what space technology can do. Satellites are very helpful to chart out areas in the world where humans cannot venture into. They also permit us to find new sources of energy or more importantly water. Thanks to their unique position they allow us to watch over Earth from a higher altitude. One of the most important roles it plays is th e fact that we now have an incredibly excellent system of communication worldwide. We can now share information over great distances in faster time and with minimum loss of information. Internet is an example of this global communication at work. Although not all have access to Internet a large part of the world is connected to it. Thanks to it many around the world can have access to incredible amounts of information on any subject that exists. Thanks to this information route, third world countries can go a long way in developing their own countries. Other technologies in domains such as medicine have also helped save many lives around the globe. In conclusion, we are now in a age of information. Knowledge is the key element for our civilization to continue to expand. Thanks to knowledge we will be able to continue to develop new systems and new technologies that will only help to improve our lives. But for this to happen we as the developed countries must show the third world countries how they can develop their own systems of communication so that we can then incorporate it into a global system. The future no longer belongs to a certain country or civilization but to a global village. We must become one to face our future. This future idea of becoming one big family is not a new idea many men have had this vision, an example in Gene Roddenberry who created Star Trek the future Earth is portrayed as being paradise, where there is no poverty, no famine, no war, where everyone lives in harmony and work not for material reasons but to expand the knowledge of the human being Now there is a future I would like to see.
